Role OverviewAs a Home Support Worker, you will assist clients with daily activities, including personal care, domestic assistance, social support, transportation, and medication administration or prompting. Your role will be crucial in helping clients maintain their independence, allowing them to stay safely in their own homes for longer. You’ll be focusing on individualised support following a care plan. Your role also involves observing, reporting changes and maintaining clear communication with the clients coordinator/office staff.
Adaptability and compassion will help you connect with your clients and respond to their needs effectively. Plus, being vigilant about WHS processes ensures a safe environment for both you and the clients.
Please note: This role is located in Murray Bridge and Mannum, SA, and involves travelling directly between clients within the local area and neighbouring areas .
About the Person?Key attributes for this role include a solid understanding of the ageing process, the ability to empower older individuals by recognising their strengths, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships, ensuring confidentiality, and respecting clients' values are vital.
Apart from this, we ask that you have the following:
- Reliable vehicle and current drivers license
- National Police Check or willingness to obtain one
- 3 x COVID vaccinations
- Influenza 2024 vaccination
- Certificate III in Home and Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Support would be desirable
- Current Accredited First Aid and CPR accreditation or willingness to obtain
- Smart phone to access the mobile worker app
