Harrison McMillan is on an exciting journey of national expansion, and we’re looking for a strategic, commercially astute, and hands-on experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead our operations, marketing, and financial performance. This is a strategic role which requires high-accountability and is made for a leader who solves problems, drives strategy execution, and makes things happen. 

As our COO, you will oversee the operations, reporting, marketing, and financial performance of the business, ensuring the seamless execution of strategic initiatives and driving business efficiency. Working closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team, you will embed best practices in governance, process optimisation, reporting, financial oversight, marketing, and technology integration. 

You will also be responsible for leading the Operations function, including direct management of the: 

• Head of Operations 

• Business Manager/Executive Assistant 

• Marketing & Administration team 

• Finance Manager 

This newly created role is pivotal in removing roadblocks, enabling scale, and ensuring our Directors of Recruitment Services and Talent Solutions can focus on their teams, clients, candidates, sales and culture.   

• Strategic Execution & Business Efficiency – Build scalable systems, remove roadblocks, and streamline processes to enable growth. 

• Operational Leadership & People Management – Lead the Operations team, ensuring alignment, accountability, and performance. 

• Financial & Data Oversight – Lead budgeting, governance, and risk management, while driving strong reporting, business intelligence (BI), and data-driven decision-making 

• Marketing & Lead Generation – Strengthen digital branding, demand generation, and marketing ROI. 

• Technology & Automation – Implement technology-driven solutions, data warehousing, and BI platforms to optimise business operations. 

• Business Growth & Resilience – Build the foundations for long-term success, ensuring Harrison McMillan is structured to grow into the future. 

• Operational Support for Directors – Enable our Directors to scale their teams by removing roadblocks and fostering a yes, why/how? mindset to accelerate decision-making. 

• Leadership, HR & People Conversations – Act as a mature, resilient leader who can have genuine, strategic conversations that move the business forward. 

• Proven experience as a COO, General Manager, or Senior Operations Leader in recruitment, consulting, or professional services. Any experience running your own business is highly advantageous  

• Strong expertise in financial oversight, governance, budgeting, risk management, and business intelligence (BI) reporting. 

• Highly experienced in marketing, digital branding, and lead generation. 

• Ability to implement technology-driven solutions, data warehousing, and BI platforms to optimise business operations. 

• Strategic mindset – able to remove barriers, drive execution, and build scalable foundations for growth. 

•  Resilient leadership style – capable of having maturity lead conversations while fostering a collaborative, solutions-driven culture. 

•  Strong commercial acumen, problem-solving skills, and a hands-on leadership approach.
